This is only an estimate
Real estate sales commission rates across all Australian states and territories are entirely deregulated; no statutory cap or fixed baseline is mandated by government authorities. The figures above represent a comparative analysis of data from over 200 surveyed Australian postcodes. Upper-tier rates reflect low-density regional markets (e.g., Tennant Creek, NT at 3.85% or Carnarvon, WA at 3.80%) where restricted agent competition and lower average property valuations necessitate higher percentage fee structures. Lower-tier rates reflect highly competitive, premium metropolitan areas such as inner-suburban Sydney and Melbourne. Quoted rates standardly exclude the 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) and independent property marketing expenditures. Actual commission rates and savings will vary based on individual property characteristics, market conditions, and the specific agent selected.
